Arkansas Tech University is getting ready to host its much-anticipated annual freshman-welcome event of the year, and it has almost arrived!
Time Out For Tech will be held at various locations on Feb. 22, beginning at 8:30 a.m., with the final program ending around 3:00 p.m.
The event, dedicated to high school seniors/incoming freshmen, offers students an overall look at what to expect during their next journey at ATU. Parents, guardians, and high school staff and faculty members are invited to join the students on their tour. Guests will be introduced to the academic programs offered at ATU, campus life to support student success, and opportunities for financial aid. With all of the new renovations and construction on campus, this year’s Time Out For Tech event might look a little different and may affect certain activities and events.
Check-in begins at 8:30 am in Tucker Coliseum, and after checking in, guests will have the opportunity to take photos with the ATU ambassador Jerry the Bulldog. Who doesn’t love a souvenir with the cutest campus ambassador in Arkansas?
Organizers of Time Out For Tech are making a promise to offer an one-of-a-kind opportunity for students to engage themselves in the experience of a future student at ATU, making connections with potential future peers, friends, professors, and staff members.
One of the most beneficial aspects of the day is the opportunity for high school seniors to learn about the numerous levels of academic programs offered at ATU via presentations from all departments, department heads, and professors. These presentations will give the students a glimpse of what to expect in taking college courses and how succeeding academically, especially in college, can help them tremendously in their future endeavors. In addition, organizers hope that seniors can leave the day with an idea of their degree path.
Alongside these programs, Time Out For Tech will conduct presentations regarding Financial Aid and Scholarship opportunities. These presentations will help visitors comprehend the costs associated with attending Arkansas Tech, and even help these guests access options for financial support.
ATU Residence Life will have the opportunity to take center stage and give
information about housing options on campus. Outside of college academics, the seniors will have the chance to speak with representatives from various RSOs, and ask any and all questions regarding their club. For the attendees interested in the option of touring the school, guided tours
will be offered to allow families to explore the facilities and the beauty of the campus.
For current students, get ready for a busy day on campus! We are eager to welcome prospective students and show them the best of us!
