Rothwell nodded and smiled, “Thank you, Embith. You are a true friend. Now I am curious, what is your relationship with the doctor? I hear you go to her shop every morning and don’t leave until evening.” Embith looked down and coughed, “Well, my lord. Doctor Thore is a very busy woman, and I often bring her supplies. She also has made me the sole guardian of her shop, so I stay to guard her and the shop.” His scales must have been red by how the lord looked at him, “Are you sure that is all, my friend? I know you did the ritual and are the few selected to see her face. Before you ask, my wife is also one of those selected few because Thore is her brother’s colleague, and the selected few must know of each other’s existence.” Embith knew he couldn’t lie to Rothwell. He sighed, “If you must know, I have grown romantic feelings toward her, and my dragon-half has become protective of her. “Rothwell smiled, “I see. So you won’t mind sharing a room with her then.” Embith’s eyes got big, “What?”
