SAB is kicking off the spring semester by hosting events. While they have kept some of the older events, such as golf cart trivia and gold rush BINGO; they have added new events like ATU ice skating and Adulting 101.
The person behind the idea for the ice skating rink, Daytime Chair Jarely Ramirez, said, “Last fall, the executive board and I met to discuss the spring semester events. My previous events were big, but not as big as the ice skating event. I wanted something new for the students. My favorite part was just seeing everyone distressed on a Friday night and just enjoying ice skating.”
The board plans each event and looks forward to having fun and giving away prizes. Their recent event, Adulting 101, had guest speakers who taught about finances and how to keep your health information safe.
“We decided to do this event because we thought it would be good to have an educational event. We usually give away shirts, but we want the prizes to be geared more towards adulting this time. College is when everyone grows up, and we wanted to give tips on life and how to reach that stage,” Mac Wheeler, Nighttime Events Chair, said. The prizes were baskets filled with school, kitchen, and laundry supplies.
