The Arkansas Tech Wonder Boys golf team continued its run of form last week with a solid tournament performance in Tahlequah, Oklahoma, at the NSU Classic. The men’s golf team won its second tournament, placing first in the field of 19 teams at NSU.
The Wonder Boys opened the season with a win at the Washburn Invitational, taking on top-rated schools such as Henderson and Washburn.
Tech’s Santiago De La Fuente of Mexico City, opened his sophomore season by shooting an even par with junior Francois Jacobs of League City, Texas, finishing just 1 over par. They were able to beat out Henderson by 8 strokes to win the Washburn tournament.
At the NSU Classic, the Wonder Boys grabbed their second tournament with a 5-stroke margin over the rest of the field, including Harding University.
After a week off, the golf team will head to Arkadelphia to compete in the Battle for the Belt. Play begins Monday.
