The College of Business is sponsoring a social media campaign called “#YouMatterATU” April 15-19.
Students are asked to take a photo with a “#YouMatterATU” poster and share it on social media. Posters are located at various spots on campus, including every floor of Rothwell Hall, Tucker Coliseum, Dean Hall, Williamson Hall, Hull Hall, Baswell Techionery, and Chambers Cafeteria.
This is the first year of the campaign, but Coordinator of Student Engagement Angela Bell says that, if resources allow, it will be an annual event.
“I was trying to come up with an idea to help show our students, faculty, staff and alumni that we are all in this together and that we all matter. I was also hoping that it would be a fun campaign and stress reliever before finals. Good mental health is very important for our students to be successful with their finals and/or classes,” said Bell.
“Some students this time in the semester are feeling sad and homesick. Other students are dealing with a lot of stress and anxiety from finals and projects that are due at the end of the semester. We want to encourage them to stay focused and finish strong and that we are here to support them.”
Every student that participates will be able to spin a wheel in Rothwell 419 for a prize. They will win a prize instantly and will also be entered into a drawing to win an iPad or a laptop.
“We have great prizes donated by our local community businesses. They are listed on the College of Business website,” said Bell. “They have given us $10-$50 gift cards, free food, t-shirts, ATU gear and tons of other merchandise. We are so thankful for their support.
