Teutsch was the second author to speak in the university’s Second Monday Author Series. Teutsch has been a writer, performer, filmmaker, and author. Most recently, he has served as multimedia coordinator for online programs for Tech.
In his Sept. 12 presentation, Teutsch offered insight into his writing process, specifically the importance of characters and how he managed to use characters as tools to write for a wide berth of content ranging from Andromeda Spaceways Magazine to stand-up comedy. Later, Teutsch introduced the audience to comedy alter-ego, Rudy Terwilliger, a downbeat, country superstar and explained how playing this character has sparked new interest in music for him.
The event concluded with a brief reading from “S-10 Valhalla.” The presentation ended with drawings for free signed copies of the novella.
The Second Monday Author series is a free event hosted by the Ross Pendergraft Library on the second Monday of each month. There successful authors speak on their influences, writing process and typically speak on their most recent works. COVID-19 forced the library to take nearly a two-year break in hosting the series but now this is gearing up to be a regular event this fall with authors Dr. Kelly Jones, associate professor of history and Jock Davis, WWII Veteran coming to be featured speakers on Oct. 10 and Nov. 14, respectively.
