On Oct. 19. Tech’s Got Talent started with 9 students performing, and by the end of the night, only 6 students moved on to the finals. The finals were on Oct. 22, with the acts singing, playing instruments and lip singing from musicals. Tech’s Got Talent winners were Oakley Smith from Leslie and Matt Moseley from Benton; they vocalize with a fiddle and acoustic guitar. Having met in 2019 at Tech’s Got Talent when they competed against one another, the two have been dating ever since. “We are so grateful to win Tech’s Got Talent during our senior year,” they said. Smith and Moseley are pursuing degrees in biology and mechanical engineering. “We put a lot of time into this, so it is amazing to see that hard work pays off,” Moseley said. The winners of the show received a $600 check. “We do not have anything planned for the money right now. We just wanted to have fun,” Smith said.
