On Sept. 7, SAB hosted the first ever paint wars. The first 100 students received a free white shirt before the event kicked off. The event was held on the intramural fields to follow CDC and Tech guidelines.
“The paint war was a great way to kick off the semester. Although COVID has put a damper on many events over the past year and a half, everyone is excited to see some changes this year,” Jarely Ramirez, daytime events chairman, said.
The group was split into teams in hopes of one teaming winning, however everyone ended up throwing paint on everyone. “The paint war allowed people to let go and forget about everything. Many people seem to be more comfortable with the protocols, so I am hopeful that we see a lot of people participating in future events, ” Ramirez said.
One thing was true about this event: “you’re a canvas”. “It was so fun and such a great opportunity to meet new people,” Mary Brogdon, an elementary education student from McCrory, said.
Many participants from the event said that they are excited for the rest of the SAB events this year.
Some future events include, Tech’s Got Talent, Big Money Bingo, Bowling with Bowen, Cookies and Cocoa, and many more. More information about future events can be found on social media at atu_sab.
