ATU has announced that the ninth annual International Film Festival will take place from Feb. 28-March 14. The three-week long event is sponsored by the Ross Pendergraft Library and is endorsed by the English and World Languages Department.
Philippe Van Houtte, a crucial player in the creation of this event, plans to attract a wide variety of students with the festival.
“This is the 9th edition of the festival and the fact that it comes back year after year is a sign of success. I hope the variety of languages and topics presented in these movies will attract as it did in the previous years,” Van Houtte said.
The festival aims to offer a glimpse into the culture of other countries while also acting as a supplemental learning opportunity for sociology, anthropology, and language classes. Students are encouraged to attend and watch any of the films that interest them, as well as stay afterwards and discuss the films with other moviegoers.
Below is a list of all scheduled films. Screenings will begin at 7 p.m. in the Doc Bryan auditorium on their respective dates. All films will be shown in their original language with the addition of English subtitles.
