The Wonder Boys drop another home game this season to the Arkansas-Monticello Boll Weevils 34-16.
The Wonder Boys will be traveling to Alva, Oklahoma next weekend to take on the Northwestern Oklahoma Rangers. Kick off is scheduled for 2 p.m. on Saturday 13.
The Wonder Boys are now in a 6-way tie for 6th place in the Great American conference at a record of 2-4. The Rangers are also in that 6-way tie after winning against the East Central Tigers last weekend.
The Wonder Boys struggled offensively only scoring on two drives in the game.
Bryan Allen, from Forrest City, rushed for 127 yards moving him to second all-time in GAC rushing yards. Allen had one touchdown with a 44-yard run for the score. He now stands at 3,271 career yards and trails 139 yards behind the second all-time rusher at Arkansas Tech.
Manny Harris, from Copperas Cove, Texas, made his first game appearance under center, throwing four completions for 88 yards and one interception. Harris rushed for the only other Wonder Boys score with a 6-yard rush. Terrez Hampton lead the receiving end with five receptions for 102 yards.
KJ Reid, from Texarkana, led the defense with 16 tackles, while Chris Kale, from Elkhart, Indiana, had nine tackles and Cua’ Rose, from McGehee, had eight tackles. The defense held the Boll weevils to 2-of-16 on third down conversions but the Boll Weevils took advantage in the red zone scoring on four of five chances.
