The Wall, tennis courts available again for students

KAREN MARADIAGA/THE ARKA TECH
Students are invited to climb for free at The Wall.

Last fall, Tech and The Wall came to an agreement to allow students to use the facility for six weeks beginning Nov. 3 through the end of the semester. During that time, more than 1,000 students visited the facility. Most students were accounted for a one-time visit while about 400 students went more than two times. Campus recreation spent about $15,000 on the program.
This spring semester, campus recreation has partnered with The Wall again so students may climb for free. The agreement allows students to use the facility from 5-10 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 2-10 p.m. on Sunday. Students will be able to visit the facility throughout the entire semester.

In the first few weeks of the semester, about 400 passes have been distributed. Free passes are located in the information booth in Doc Bryan.

Campus recreation has developed the use of tennis courts and equipment. Last semester students were able to play tennis starting Nov. 3. This semester students will be able to use the courts again on select nights in February. Beginning in March students can also join a league of double or singles that will continue throughout the semester.
