The Journalists for Life, a journalism team for the River Valley Relay for Life, will be accepting donations through Saturday for the American Cancer Society with a “Pie in the Face” fundraiser.
For the “Pie in the Face” fundraiser, seven professors from the journalism department have volunteered to be participants in the chance of being pied in the face by students. The professor who collects the most money in his jar at the end of the fundraiser will be pied in the face.
Christie White, broadcast production specialist for Tech TV, said the fundraiser is personal.
“It’s for good cause,” White said. “I have had several family members who have passed away from cancer.”
White said getting pied in the face would be worth it for the cause.
“The thought of it doesn’t really bother me,” White said. “Anything to help raise money for a good cause is worth it”.
Those wishing to donate can find the donation jars in the lobby of the Energy Center.
