Residents participate in Helping Halls

Arkansas Tech University residence halls are supporting an event called Helping Halls over the next few weeks.

During this time, residence halls on campus compete to raise money to donate to Salvation Army to feed families in the Arkansas River Valley this Thanksgiving holiday.

To encourage donations, the halls will provide various programs to collect money. The halls will then purchase food to make kits that contain nonperishable items that will be given to families in need. Some food items include mashed potatoes, canned vegetables, canned fruit and pie crust.

Each hall has a goal amount and will work to reach the goal until November 21st. The hall that goes above the suggested amount the most will receive the Helping Halls traveling trophy.
Tech students raised more than $3,000, or 258 meals, in 2013.
