Jan. 29 at 7:52 p.m.: Officers responded to a possible stranded motorist on Glenwood Avenue. Officers observed a silver car parked diagonally in the street with the hazard lights on. The vehicle appeared to have been in a collision with a nearby electric pole. Student witnesses stated that the vehicle involved in the collision was racing another vehicle when it lost control. Video footage from nearby security cameras showed the driver attempted to drive away after the collision, but the damage was too substantial.
Feb. 5 at 3:10 p.m.: Officers responded to a call of a marijuana odor in Baswell residence hall. Upon arrival at Baswell, a female student voluntarily let officers into the room that officers thought was emitting the marijuana odor. Resident authorized a search of the residence, but no marijuana was found. Officers advised the female student not to smoke marijuana on Tech property.
Feb. 6 at 11:30 a.m.: Officers were notified that someone had vandalized a security camera on an emergency call station across the street from Turner residence hall and next to the pasture. Video footage shows an unknown suspect spray painting the camera lens at around 3:25 a.m. on Feb. 4. The cost for replacing the camera lens has been estimated at $60.
