Managing Tech

Arkansas Tech’s Facility Management office oversees maintenance for multiple facilities on campus.

There have been a few maintenance requests sent in this semester regarding grasshoppers inside the dorms. Eric Voth, maintenance coordinator of residence hall maintenance, advises students to be patient.

“We ask that students be as patient as possible with us after submitting request since we work with over a thousand students a day and want to meet as many needs as possible within that day,” Voth said.

Aside from residence life, the department handles landscaping as well. Most of Tech’s plants are grown here in Russellville at a greenhouse monitored by Robert Condley, campus maintenance coordinator of landscape and grounds.

The department also built Tech’s recreational facilities on campus. This includes an upcoming hammock grove that David Condley, skilled trade foreman of building maintenance, said will be up and ready for students within the next month.

“The grove will be accompanied with barbecue grills and picnic tables, so students should be seeing that soon,” he said.

For students that are having issues in their rooms, whether that be a leaking faucet or a broken blind, they can submit a maintenance request through Tech’s Facilities Management website at www.atu.edu/facilities.

If students have trouble filling out the form or can’t find it they are more than welcome to call the department’s office at 479-968-0261, Brian Lasey, director of physical plant for Facilities Management, said.
