It’s that time of year again, Homecoming Week is upon us and university faculty and student organizations have been working hard to prepare a week full of fun activities for all of the Tech community.

The University Honors Program hosted a Homecoming Sidewalk Chalk Contest on Tuesday. Prizes for the best depictions of this year’s homecoming theme, Beat the Bulldogs, were given to the winners.

The Party at the Tower was conducted at Hindsman Bell Tower Wednesday afternoon. SGA hosted a night full of excitement with rides, music and a zip line attraction. Students were also able to get their photo taken with Jerry the Bulldog.

SGA also hosted the 2018 Greek Step Show yesterday evening at Tucker Coliseum. Four teams, each compiled of Greek Life organizations, choreographed and performed a step routine with hopes of obtaining the winners’ title.

A Play Unified game is scheduled for today at 4 p.m. at Hindsman Bell Tower. All students are invited to stop in and play Special Olympic games with five-star athletes.

Individuals interested in learning more about Tech and the opportunities it has to offer are invited to the 22nd annual Tech Open House on Saturday at Tucker Coliseum in Russellville.

The event, sponsored by the Arkansas Tech Office of Admissions, will be from 10 a.m. to noon. Advance registration for Tech Open House is not required.

A free concert by Tech alumnus and Show Dog Nashville recording artist Lance Carpenter will be among the highlights of Homecoming 2018. Carpenter will perform during Party at the Plaza, the pre-game tailgating celebration outside Buerkle Field, beginning at noon Saturday.

Those in attendance to Party at the Plaza can enjoy music, free inflatable games, tailgating and a pre-game meal to get homecoming night started off right.

The Paint the Town Green and Gold Festival will be conducted from 6-9 p.m. in Downtown Russellville. Students and the Tech community are invited to go celebrate the Wonder Boys and show Tech spirit. The festival will include live music, free food and giveaways.
