The Golden Suns golf team claimed a first-place finish at the Holiday Inn Express Central Region Invitational in St. Joseph, Mo., on March 23.
Along with a first-place team finish in the 15-team field, the Tech had a one-two finish for the top spots in the tournament.
Rebecka Surtevall earned medalist honors, shooting a 77 in the first round and 74 in the second round for a 151 score. Taylor Kline finished one stroke behind Surtevall for second place, shooting a 75 in round one and 77 in round two for a 152 score.
Megan Jeffery tied for seventh place with a 156, as she shot 76 in round one and 80 in round two. Alexandra Muhl tied for 14th place with a 160, as she shot 79 in round one and 81 in round two. Caroline Fredensborg tied for 31st place with a 167, as she shot 84 in round one and 83 in round two.
Prior to spring break, the Golden Suns finished in 10th place at the Barry Invitational in Miami. Tech earned 10th place in the field of 15 teams with a total score of 915, which was 41 strokes more than winners Rollins College.
Surtevall led the Golden Suns tied for fifth place in the field of 91 players with a three-round score of 217. Taylor Kline finished tied for 35th with a three-round score of 229. Caroline Fredensborg finished tied for 42nd with a three-round score of 231.
Megan Jeffery finished tied for 62nd with a three-round score of 240. Laura Gallizo finished tied for 74th with a three-round score of 247.
The Golden Suns will host the Central Region Spring Preview in Springfield, Mo., on Monday and Tuesday.
